This restaurant is fantastic, and the food is outstanding! The service is consistently excellent, making it an essential stop whenever we're in town. My favorite dishes are the Cuban sandwich and the black bean rice. You definitely have to try the fried cheese with their homemade dipping sauce as well!
The restaurant is conveniently located just off the well-known Buford Highway in Norcross, making it easy to find. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly young cashier who seemed very professional. The restaurant was well-lit, and I couldn't help but notice the large Cuban flag hanging behind the counter—it gave me confidence that my food would be prepared with authenticity! The menu was clear and straightforward. I ordered a traditional Cuban sandwich, which came with a choice of sweet plantains, fries, or rice and beans. I opted for the delicious sweet plantains. I also tried a dish called Palomilla, choosing the beef/steak option. It was great; the thin-cut steak was topped with shredded onions, and it was served alongside sweet plantains, rice and beans. I even added a side of sliced avocado for an extra charge. They included two sauces on the side, which was nice. Having tried this dish at various places before, I felt this version could have used a bit more seasoning—perhaps some adobo or something similar, as it was a bit bland for my taste. That said, the presentation of the food was excellent. It's possible that since I arrived just an hour before closing, the food may not have been at its best. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and will definitely return to this restaurant since it's conveniently located near my favorite shopping spots. However, if I'm further south on Buford Highway, I might still opt for my favorite Cuban place. Don't overlook this restaurant if you're in the area—it's worth a visit!
#vegetarian. Went to the D'Cuban Cafe in Norcross around 1:30 pm today. The place wasn't overcrowded; 4 other customers were eating there. Other reviews say it can be pretty busy lunch time. The food tastes fresh, it's made fresh to order and the bowl was filled to the top. I don't know what Cuban food is supposed to taste like, but this food was flavorful. The salsa served with it is pretty spicy. I got the Veggie Bowl for $8.95 with sauteed bell peppers and onions, theirhomemade mojo sauce. Served with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. Personal taste: I'm not a fan of the plantains in the dish, I like the sweet potatoes Flower Child serves better. But if you like plantains, you'll probablyenjoy those. I think I also would have liked the whole dish a bit better if I had added the avocado slices too since there's no meat in the dish. It would also be nice if there was a plant based meat option (or even tofu) for the veggiebowl. Colorful decor with mismatched chairs and antiques.
Beautiful cuban food and nice staff ready to take your order thoroughly and to the best standard. The ladies who served us were very polite and thoughtful ????
