Brookes Lounge - North Fort Myers

I recently dined at Brookes Restaurant Lounge on Hancock Bridge Pkwy in Cape Coral, Florida and wanted to share my thoughts on the food and ambiance. I decided to try the special of the day, a blackened fish sandwich with Cole slaw and fries. I requested that the blackening seasoning be extra strong and they accommodated my request. The fish was perfectly blackened and served on a toasted bun, accompanied by a delicious side of Cole slaw. The chili I ordered was not to my liking as it was too sweet with too many tomatoes and not enough spices like cumin, cayenne pepper, and onions. However, the fries were a standout, perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. The meal was reasonably priced at around 11 dollars, not including the soda I ordered. Overall, the food at Brookes Restaurant Lounge is consistently good and the service was excellent. If you're ever unsure of what to order, I would recommend giving this place a try.

In September 2017, I also visited Brookes Restaurant Lounge on Hancock Bridge in North Fort Myers, Florida. I decided to try the Cajun fish and black beans. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned with Cajun spices, but it lacked the level of spiciness I was hoping for. The black beans had a tasty hint of salsa, but needed additional hot sauce for my liking. The service was excellent and the portion of fish was surprisingly large. On another visit, I tried the Cajun fried fish sandwich, which was a Saturday lunch special. The fillet was so large it could have made two sandwiches. While it wasn't as spicy as expected, it was still very delicious and fried to perfection. The tartar sauce was okay and the coleslaw was average. I had the option of regular fries, fresh Amijo potato chips, or waffles on the side. Overall, it was the best fish sandwich I've had in the past four years. The waitress and other employees provided great service and I look forward to trying other dishes at Brookes in the future.

This restaurant is a spacious venue ideal for gathering with friends for drinks and karaoke. The food is decent, but not outstanding. The service can be hit or miss.
