Friendly, accommodating staff who saw to our needs for my mother's wake following her funeral at Holwell Crematorium. Plenty of nice food, tea coffee. As it was a nice day they placed us in garden outside with marquee after checking with me that this was OK. Booked food for 28 people and there was more than enough. Thanks to all the staff who helped make a difficult day go so well.
We came from the local Lavender Farm nearby and the Plume was one of the nearest pubs to the farm, and the outside of the pub was very attractive though there was not many people inside. However once inside we were welcomed nicely by the landlady and with the extremely warm weather we decided to sit outside. We ordered some drinks and food which was all very nice, one of our group said the fish was as good a piece of fish as he had for some while. It was a shame the pub was not busy as the service, drinks and food all seemed good. Only downside for us was that the outside area where we sat was a bit scruffy and patchy, particularly the grass.
Fabulous lunch in this hidden gem . Wonderful community feel , great outdoors space in the sun. Lovely , friendly staff and super food at such reasonable prices . Would highly recommend .
I honestly don’t know where TripAdvisor got the photos from for this pub, but they are both wrong. The first shows the wrong Plume of Feathers and the other is so old, it’s beyond belief. This photo was taken about 15+ years ago, when the pub was owned by someone else. The telephone number is wrong too. The new owners have created a smashing, welcoming village pub, with friendly staff serving delicious food to suit all tastes and a fine selection of beers. Give it a try, you certainly won’t be disappointed.
