Amazing fish and chips available for dining in (order at the counter and then find a seat, wait to be called) or for takeout.
The lady here was very lovely and chatty, and talked us through the various options on the menu. After selecting the standard flake and chips, the fish was filleted then and there, before being freshly battered and fried. It was delicious, and the freshness was evident.
This fish bar is positioned right next door to the previous outstanding Mako fish restaurant. We ordered dinner for 5 people - the chips were soggy, the fish was covered in a very thick under cooked batter disguising the very small piece of fish. One piece actually contained batter only. They forgot to include the tartare sauce and the saleswoman was unable to operate an EFTPOS machine adequately. A very disappointing experience for $90. Would not recommend this dodgey establishment.
I have previously purchased fish and chips from this shop but unfortunately this time they were really off their game. The fish was not good, not that it was overlooked but rather it was not a great taste - not as fresh as it should have been.
