I always see queue stretching outside the door at lunch time, so I got there just after 12 to beat the crowd. My order was taken very quickly, hardly a wait. I ordered Roast pork (char siu) & roast duck with Vermicelli noodle soup, pretty standard Chinese BBQ noodle house order, one assumes. But then this place have no system to record what people ordered & what's still outstanding to be served, orders are just shouted out to staff preparing the food. I waited & waited, the counter staff saw me still waiting & asked me to repeat my order, 3 times! It was just incredibly frustrating, and I was starving, if it wasn't for the fact I've already paid I would've walked. The food was ok when I finally got it, but not good enough for me to bother returning anytime soon.
Closest thing to Chinatown you will find in North Sydney $10 Char Siu on fried rice is delicious
Great food, authentic, not a usual Aussie Chinese restaurant, more Hong Kongish. this is the best in Sydney. Service can always be more polished but Chinese are more interested in state than service.
Most staff were quiet friendly, but one particular staff was quite rough in all that he did.The food was quite nice and portion sizes were all perfect, The scallops on that they day were very fresh.Overall, it is a place worth trying...
Came here on a Saturday night. They were quite busy so I understand that our initial reception at not having booked was met with being denied a table by the first staff member we spoke to. Anyway, I will just comment on food after getting our table. We were all craving ginger and shallot crabs so we ordered that and a plate of vegetables. The crab wasn't bad but definitely had better elsewhere for a lot cheaper.
