The Castle Inn

We chose the castle this year for our annual family Christmas meal and night out, had a fantastic night out but... First off our table was next to the kitchen/til and was lacking in any atmosphere. More importantly the food: Christmas dinner was ok but way too over seasoned, and if you don't like spiced red cabbage then half of your plate was gone! It needed something like collycheese for variety. We all had this apart from my wife who had steak. Again, over seasoned, nothing special at all and very little to accompany it for the hefty £32 ! About 8oz! Starters of pate we're nice and very little choice of desert but was ok. I have to say we've paid less for much better so will be our last Christmas meal there. Overall the night was great though as the free band were great!

We had a wonderful experience at this family and pet-friendly pub. We arrived early and were promptly seated for our meal. The food was outstanding, freshly made, and the stone-baked pizza was especially delicious.

My wife was pleased with the thoughtful selection of gluten-free options, which went beyond simply removing the bread. My gluten-filled pizza was both delicious and quite large.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch today. Sevice good food was excellent. The roast beef was very succulent, it nearly melted in the mouth. The roast potatoes Yorkshire pudding were cooked to perfection.

Fabulous food (Best steak we've had in ages! Wonderful staff/service and brilliant live music to follow. Highly recommend
