Persian Flame - NORTH WILLOUGHBY

First time I went I LOVED it. Unusual flavours, a sensory treat. The second time we didn't get all the same things (like fresh mint in the side dish) so a little disappointed but still delicious

Ordered online at 4:30pm for a delivery by 5:45pm it's now almost 7pm and the food is still not here! Called a few times, am promised it's on it's way, the driver is stuck in traffic but this is ridiculous! I asked for a refund if the food is still not here by 6:45pm and now they're all the sudden not answering my calls anymore! Never ever gonna use these guys again. Can't believe I was stupid enough to pay upfront online! Update: they did eventually deliver at 7:05pm and they have promised a refund. The food was very tasty. What a shame about the delivery.

The star of the show was the lamb casserole spiced with dried lime. Holy...! Like nothing I've ever had before. The lime lay in the stew like a burned out Death Star, all black and charred, and it lent the dish a jam-sweet, lime-tart bite I couldn't get enough of. But I;m getting ahead of myself. Persian food AKA Iranian ain't that easy to find on the North Shore, except for a glorious little anachronistic stretch of Willoughby Road where there's Persian grocers, hot nut bars, sweetmeats, and a narrow stairwell leading up to Persian Flame. I love Middle Eastern Food. There, I said it. The vittles here are mad authentic yo, it's heavy on rice and succulent grilled meats and dips and not a huge lot else but hey, how much food do you think grows in the desert? The dolmades to start were good, laced as they were with a thick pomegranate syrup, and the other real joy was a wall full of posters of Iranian pop stars with faded mustaches and wonderful pompadours. That's a hell of a wall, let me tell you. So much great Freddie Mercury hair.

I had the best persian food of my entire life here. You may not find such quality and taste of Persian food anywhere else, not even in Iran. Thanks Farough

Most unhappy with the service. Lamb shanks were bland. There was more rice on the plate than actual meat. That goes for all the 4 different mains we ordered. English breakfast was served with no milk and sugar. When I asked for both they did not have it ?! A restaurant that does not have milk and sugar? After paying bill and walking back to my car (with my 3 children) the waitress chased me back to tell me she had calculated the wrong charges and asked me to walk with her back to the restaurant to pay for the correct amount. By then my children were ready to go home as they were already fustrated with the slow service throughout the dinner. It turns out the amount was more than doubled calculated by another waitress . At least this time she used her calculator to charge me an amount. However I noticed the new amount was $5 more what was on the bill itself. Someone had already totalled up the bill but clearly both waitress ignored those amounts and charged me whatever they came up with!
