The Tavern Of Northfield

I adore this restaurant! They give delicious meals, their menu is decent, The cook in that place is very trained, I love a lot trying all their dishes. The food is always of high qualtity, the attitude towards the customers is efficient. I visit often this place and I was never disappointed. I highly recommend it.

They were closed! Our backup breakfast was definitely not as pleasant. Looking forward to a re-opening.

We went to The Tavern for our weekly family breakfast and it was delicious! My daughter had the bananas fosters French toast that was out of this world! I had the Mexican omelet that they actually serve in a tortilla and it was amazing. The chorizo is made in house and it was perfect! The fresh salsa they serve it with was just that, fresh and tasty. My husband had the single biscuits and gravy as well as the steak and eggs. His steak was cooked perfectly and I tried a bite of his biscuits and gravy, and WOW! The herbs incorporated into the biscuits and pepper in the gravy made it the BEST I’ve ever had. The biscuits were also dense but moist not all dried out like others ones I tried. The food was phenomenal and the service was great too. Our server was very attentive and sweet. I also loved the quaintness of the restaurant. It it definitely a hidden gem with great woodwork architecture and stained glass windows. I’m definitely gonna make this a staple stop.

Let me first say that we LOVE The Tavern in Northfield , and have been patrons for years! We particularly enjoy spending summer evenings on their patio overlooking the river However, this evening we had a horrifying experience. By the time our dinner arrived, we had large black gnats flying around our table. We decided to keep quiet and maybe the gnat issue would subside. Well, it got worse. So we mentioned something to the waitress who mentioned to her manager, who spoke with us after a few minutes. I couldn 't believe what she said to us. I 'm sorry, but there is nothing I can do about it at this time . Meanwhile, our dinner is getting cold and both my wife and I are beginning to fume. After listening to several somewhat defiant excuses, I finally told her, There is certainly something you can do, MOVE US! The manager agreed to move us and we were quickly shuffled off to a second table with..... Are you ready for this? BIG BLACK KNATS buzzing around our heads at the second table! Can we win? We quickly finished our meals and got out of there as quickly as possible. On the way home we stopped at Culver 's in Lakeville where we were treated with kindness (novel? . We sat in the parking lot eating ice cream sundaes in our car and laughing at the contrast in the 2 experiences! Needless to say, after many years patronizing THE TAVERN, we won 't be back anytime soon..... Sorry folks, nothing personal. I 'm just not comfortable paying good money for unsanitary conditions and a lack of concern for long-time patrons who always make a habit of taking care of your hard-working waitstaff.
