Nadon Thai Morpeth - Northumberland

After hearing such good things from friends and family we decided to visit on a Saturday evening. Restaurant was half full and service was prompt. Starters came and were ok, but not to the standard I have had in other Thai venues. Mains were dreadful a black pepper beef in a watery sauce that seemed to be the same as the over baring sauce that came on the side of mixed vegetables, and I had a duck dish where the duck must simply have been deep fried it was inedible. Swiftly got up paid the bill and left. Would not return for sub standard non authentic Asian food.

We had in the words of my teenage daughter a ‘scrumptious’ meal. Very good service and the food was delicious, one of the best Thai meals I’ve had in a while.

I don't know what happened to this restaurant. The food used to be great. Great flavour and great prices. It used to be our go to takeaway and we loved to be able to support a local business. The last three meals have been very disappointing. One was in the restaurant and other two were takeaways. Bland, tasteless good. tonight's dinner went into the bin. It's a real shame

Nadon Thai is one of those restaurants I 've been meaning to visit for a few years now and now I have I 'm somewhat underwhelmed. The decor which looks great on photographs is decidedly dated and somewhat tacky (needs a good dose of TLC) although the front of house staff are pleasant and efficient. My biggest dissappointment though was the food. To start I had the barbequed pork which was fatty and tough and the garnish lack lustre. This was followed by Beef Penang Curry being served with a thin soup like consistency when in all other Thai restarants I 've visited it is served almost dry with only a small amount of rich, thick sauce, and the beef was tough. The jasmine rice however was nice. Price wise it wasnt expensive and much on par with other Thai restaurants but for the poor quality of the food it did not represent good value.

Excellent food and service. Good value for money. Lovely ambience, and will be returning! Thank you!
