Írjon visszajelzéstIt’s a really decent country style pub, one of M&B’s branded Vintage Inns I think. You wouldn’t think it from outside but it’s big, and for Sunday lunch it was busy so book in advance would be my suggestion. Service was slick, team members were...
We have eaten here a few times but this one wasn’t what we expected. Ordered 3 Sunday roast. We didn’t have to wait very long before they arrived. We were surprised how quick they came. Unfortunately all 3 had to go back due to being cold. The plate bottom was warm but food was cold. Replacements came very quickly and to be honest we were not sure if they had just been re heated. The only waitress acknowledged the error and apologised.
I'm a, frequent visitor to The Snowy Owl, often for light food, today just for coffee. I always find the staff helpful and friendly. Today was no exception. I was served by Sally, who always has a lovely smile, and an excellent service manner. Well done Snowy Owl and Sally. From Kit Tapscott
Sat down and were told that there was no pork, lamb or turkey left available and we could only order beef which was disappointing as we usually have pork and this wasn’t mentioned when we arrived. The food then arrived about 5 minutes later which indicates it was pre made and it came before we had received the drinks we ordered which were forgotten about. The dinner itself was quite nice however didn’t have parsnips as advertised on the menu. After finishing the main course we then noticed that people that had sat down after us were being served the Pork dinner despite us being told that they had ran out when we arrived. We then ordered desserts and another round of drinks, the dessert arrived 15 mins later without the drinks so they had been missed again. Overall quite a disappointing experience especially considering this isn’t the cheapest of places either.
My son and daughter in law came up from North Yorkshire to take me to Sunday lunch for my 79th birthday. The time was only 12.30, yet, when it came, the food had obviously been sitting somewhere, keeping merely luke warm, for hours, as it had all hardened. It was the complete opposite of freshly cooked. The belly pork was just a fat lump of fat inedible. The tiny sliver of beef was tasteless and too tough for me to eat. I was able to eat most of the turkey. I found it difficult to cut up the vegetables and roast potatoes into bit sized pieces as they had hardened with having been cooked hours earlier I should have asked for a steak knife. I therefore I ate very little of the dinner at all. And what is it about red jus ? Gravy is what you want with a Sunday roast. When the waiter whizzed by to ask if all was well with the food, how could I make a fuss and say no, as it was a treat for my birthday, a very expensive one, at that?
