Toby Carvery Colwick Park - Nottingham

Worst experience ever, it was our first time trying a Toby carvery, the food was rock hard from sitting under the lamps for however many hours, dry with no flavour, the only tolerable thing to eat were the puds, so paid £15.98 for a pud, should’ve went to asda and brought a pack of puds and sat at home and ate them for less then £5, never coming here again.

The service in this restaurant is truly appalling. There was nobody available to seat us, we had to ask for drinks and nobody was available to pay the bill. The food was actually good. Nice meat and a great selection of vegetables. The servers did apologise and said they had a big party in but quite honestly, it’s no excuse. If you don’t have enough staff, don’t accept bookings. In this current economic climate, you need to do better Toby Carvery.

Book very late and only could get a 7.30pm reservation but restaurant was able to accommodate us. Food good although Beef had run out. Service good from waitress that was run ragged but still maintained a smile.

Went about 4.30pm checked to see if there was availability as we had not booked, plenty of empty tables, had to wait about 7 mins at Reception desk which is too long a time, The same has happened previously long wait at reception to be greeted, I said I would not return because of that reason but here we were giving it another Go. Carvery food not looking very fresh, horrible damp patches on the ceiling, like there had been a leak in the toilets, this was right above The Self Service Drinks Area, I looked Up and looking at it just put me off everything it felt unhygienic. Not a staff problem not their fault at all, even from outside the place looks like it needs a freshen up, inside is also looking very tired, nothing to do with the staff.

I came in for lunch and was greeted by the manager at the front desk, who was absolutely fantastic. She asked if anyone had any allergies or dietary requirements, and since my daughter is lactose intolerant, she showed us everything she could eat from the menu and even offered to make some cauliflower without cheese sauce. She was an amazing person and really made a big fuss over my little girl, who absolutely loved it. Thank you for everything.
