L&l Hawaiian Bbq - Novato

Incredible! I am originally from Hawaii, so having an LnL nearby is a real treat. It is definitely the best Hawaiian-style plates I have tried in California. I highly recommend it.

We placed a group order for our office and everyone loved it! They were able to make the modifications we requested. We ordered the Loco Moco, a lighter BBQ chicken dish, a BBQ beef bowl, a BBQ chicken bowl, and spam musubi.

Food is always good although some days better than others. Today was a good day! We like the chicken katsu, bbq chicken, and my favorite lighter bbq chicken which is chicken on a salad with brown rice. I like to chop up the chicken to bite sized pieces, add the dressing (and a bit if rice wine vinegar) close the lid and shake it up! Sooo yummy!!!

We like this place since going in Hawaii back in the 80 's. When it came to Novato I was stoked! Food is most often good. I like the lighter BBQ chicken and my hubby the Katsu. This time I took a star away because the chicken had no flavor. I guess it wasn 't marinated long enough this time. Won 't stop me from getting it again. I also wish they had a sauce to go with it, teriyaki is my preference. I forgot to ask this time. Should just be included every time. Fries are really good if you ask for well done . They also reheat in the air fryer nicely. I 'm not a Mac salad fan but my husband likes it. I like the brown rice best but white rice is good too! Wish a green salad was a sub option for the meals for the no mac salad crew. Nice people that run the place! They definitely have the aloha spirit! Mahalo

My husband, who used to live and work on O'ahu, described this loco moco as the worst he has ever had, with the exception of the macaroni salad which he said was great. The rice was stale, burgers were overcooked, gravy was almost non-existent, and the eggs were hard all the way through.
