Country Catfish - Oakland

This restaurant is fantastic, and the chef who prepares the fish, Darrel, is the nicest person I've ever encountered.

The fish portions were small, but the coleslaw was enjoyable. The restaurant was quite chilly, and I found the atmosphere uninviting.

Visiting Country Catfish is always a delight! The staff is fantastic, and I know the owner personally, which adds to the warm atmosphere. While there have been a few off nights, let's be honest—what restaurant doesn't experience that? Some people have mentioned that $20 per plate feels expensive, but honestly, it's hard to find a place where you can enjoy a good meal for less, especially an all-you-can-eat option. They're open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 4 to 9. If you're passing through I-55 on one of these nights, take a detour at Oakland to enjoy some delicious fried catfish! If you’re concerned about getting your money's worth on the buffet, they also offer single plate options, as well as chicken and shrimp dishes.

Our favorite restaurant! Johnny usually visits every week when he’s in the mood. He believes they have the best fish around. I personally enjoy the chicken tenders. Everything else on the menu is great too. Ms. Louise is really nice, as are all the other staff members.

I had fresh fish and absolutely loved the corn! As a first-time visitor from California, I really enjoyed my experience. The only downside was that it was a cash-only establishment. We're so used to using credit cards back home! LOL
