The food was good, not sure the pairing of bell peppers and fried shrimp. The crab bisque was very good and the stuffed rock fish. The staff was very friendly.
First off, this is just my opinion from my personal experience at The Original Crabcake Factory. You may have a different experience, for better or worse. I ordered a pint of cream of crab soup, the OG Crab Melt, and the 8 oz crabcake sandwich. The cream of crab soup was quite good, with a solid amount of crab meat and a good taste overall, 7.9/10. The Crab Melt was very disappointing, definitely making me think, That looks nowhere near as good as the picture. It just looked and tasted like two pieces of Kraft Mac and Cheese between two slices of Wonder Bread, with a small amount of crabmeat in the middle. For over $20, I expected a lot more, 3.8/10. The 8 oz crabcake sandwich was delicious and packed with jumbo lump crabmeat, definitely the highlight of the meal. It 's been many years since I 've been in OC, but so far, this is the best crabcake I 've had in OC over the last week, and I 've had quite a few, 8.4/10. Although I got my food to go, the restaurant had a warm and cozy feel, almost akin to a dive bar, but in a good way. Overall, it was a great experience, minus the Crab Melt, and I 'll definitely be back.
The food was very good, there was lump crab meat throughout the dishes.
More than just an crabcake place. Enjoyed the lobster bisque. The lump crab cakes were great when paired with their cocktail tartar sauce mixed together. We really enjoyed the bbq ribs and mambo 1/2 chicken, was perfectly moist and seasoned. Fresh zucchini and squash was cooked perfectly by someone who knows how to make vegetables enjoyable. Boardwalk fries done well, keeping this as a favorite place to visit with non-seafood eating friends for their quality and diverse menu.
