Down Home Cafe - Odessa

The food was delicious. I have a 1/2lb BBQ Bacon Burger with Fritten, and for Dessert I have a banana cream pipe. The cake was a little heavy on extract, and had a soft chemical to taste; but she replaced it for me with Butterscotch and it was delicious. The burger was amazing, and the pommes where perfectly seasoned. The staff was friendly and respectful.

Not going to lie.... When the hubby wanted to go here for Valentine's Day I was not excited.. But y'all, it was fantastic!!! I had the spiced shrimp, cucumbers onions, smoked baked potato, and roll!! My hubby had the hot roast beef with mashed potatoes and he raved about it and he never gets excited about food. And then our service was so good. The server thought our food didn't come out soon enough and gave us free dessert!! Our entire bill with a 20% tip was $40! Plus we enjoyed visiting the locals and they gave away free roses as you left.

I have no idea why I pulled into Odessa, but I quite enjoyed the burger and pie I devoured at this relatively simple stop. It's nothing too wild in terms of a menu, but if you seek delicious comfort food on the road, pull off and take a seat.

I love their breakfast bowls, omelettes and biscuits and gravy the most! Always delicious!
