Den Gyldene Freden - Oestermalm

We had an incredible experience at Gyldene Fries on our last night in Stockholm. The atmosphere was lovely, with candlelight and cozy seating. Our waiter, William, did an excellent job explaining the menu and even went above and beyond by accommodating my request for Swedish meatballs when they were out of steak. I was impressed by everything, even when I accidentally spilled something on myself. This was definitely our favorite restaurant in Stockholm, and possibly anywhere in the world. Thank you and we can't wait to visit again.

After reading all the positive reviews, we decided to give this restaurant a try. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype. The menu was in Swedish with no explanations, making it difficult for us to understand. We struggled to translate everything in the dim candlelight, only to find out that the famous meatball dish was not even listed on the menu (you have to request it separately). We are not in a rush to return, but it was a full house so we recommend making a reservation in advance.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is beautiful and the dining experience is fantastic. The staff members were really kind and it is highly recommended to book a table in advance, especially for larger parties.

Delicious, expertly cooked dishes. Beautiful setting with a rich history. The restaurant seems to be short-staffed, but our server did a great job despite the challenge.

We had a wonderful time at the restaurant. The food was amazing, and our server Richard was very hospitable. The atmosphere was lovely and we made great memories.
