Steak 'n Shake - Olathe

I used to visit this restaurant frequently when I lived in Texas. I fondly remember the wonderful customer service, delicious food, and fantastic shakes. However, I don't know what has changed. Now, it's self-service, and there is no waiter to assist you. The only thing you see is a reception area, and there's no greeting or friendly interaction when you place your order. The fries were the highlight of the meal, but the shakes were just okay, and the burgers were average. I won’t be coming back for sure. Maybe it was just this particular visit, but the restaurant has definitely lost its charm.

I'm currently sitting here on a Saturday night and it took 8 minutes for the staff to respond to my order from the menu. After that, I waited another 15 minutes just to receive a grilled cheese sandwich. The inefficiency of the employees could really hurt the business, but I have to say, the food is good.

I wasn't a big fan of this place, but I have to say the burgers were quite good. The fries were cooked to perfection, and the shakes were enjoyable as well. However, the floors were sticky. The staff was very friendly. I even recognized Gary from high school; he was the cook last night and did an amazing job with the food!

The restaurant is dirty and the food was undercooked. I could see old eating under the grill from our stand. müll in front of the door and the greasy window should have been the first note. the straws are too small for the shakes, so they need to use a spoon and ice with every bite. the burger had a funny taste like cleaning fluid and made me honestly sick. I have just seen another review how the restaurant needs a deep cleanliness and am surprised that the manager did nothing about it. it's too bad, because it used to be one of the better places for a steakburger. we are not coming back.

Try the garlic burger.. amazing... Ask for onions if you like otherwise just burger cheese garlic but yummy nonetheless
