Cuckoos Nest - Old Saybrook

We were a party of ten on Mother's Day. Nine meals came out and then our server had to ask what my father had ordered. It clearly was never made, we were more than halfway finished with our meals my husband and brother and law were finished and then my fathers meal came out. Not even a “sorry about that”. Mistakes happen, but take some accountability and offer an apology even if its not sincere. Food was mediocre. The rice was almost like a chinese fried rice. Drinks were good. Cant comment on the buffet. All in all I would not return.

Overpriced, bland, they charge for chips and salsa. Everything tastes canned, prepackaged, or frozen. You can make the same food at home for a quarter of the price you pay here. The alcohol is okay. Everything else here is just sad, and seems like a place Gordon Ramsay would shut down on kitchen nightmares.

If I could give the atmosphere more stars and the server Jenn more stars I would do just that. I was trying to kill time and was hungry and had no clue where I was and this place looked like a hidden treasure and it sure didn’t disappoint. Jenn was super friendly and recommended the fried fish tacos and she was right on the money there. They were delicious and all the flavors completely complimented each other perfectly. The decor inside was so much fun that I couldn’t stop taking pictures. So happy I found this place. Homemade salsa and chips were awesome too!!

This is our go to Mexican in our area! The food is great, prices are right and service is outstanding. Love the interior with the intricate decor and all the rooms. I have hosted work events in their room by the bar, they are so accommodating and easy to work with.

The food was great. For dessert I had the fried ice-cream with maple syrup. A beautiful ending to a great meal Dietary restrictions: I have an issue with gluten, onios and peppers so I chose the cheese and chicken enchiladas with a side of pinto beans
