The Pub - Olongapo

This restaurant is a hidden gem for Brits, a little slice of home. I only wish they would open up the back area. The food is fantastic, and the portions are generous—large enough to share between two people per plate.

The rooms are clean, though they're quite noisy and lack certain services and amenities. However, given the affordable price, it's still acceptable. The Wi-Fi doesn't reach the rooms, and there's no refrigerator, but they do provide water, and the rooms are regularly cleaned with no pests in sight. The noise can make it a bit challenging to sleep, but it's manageable. The front desk will answer specific questions but isn't very engaging, which could be a benefit or a drawback depending on your preference for privacy. Overall, it's a decent experience considering the very low rates.

The staff are very courteous and helpful. They offer complimentary water but unfortunately do not provide free coffee, despite it being advertised. Although they mentioned having a fridge available, there is a daily fee. I specifically chose this place because of the advertised fridge. After discussing it with the staff, they kindly spoke with their manager and allowed us to use it for free. Please note that there is a 1000 pesos deposit required for your stay, which will be refunded upon departure. The hot shower was excellent! The Pub Hotel is conveniently located near Barretto Beach and Baloy Beach, as well as several food establishments and laundry shops. However, it is quite a distance from Ocean Adventure and Zoobic Safari. If you plan to visit Olongapo for shopping at the malls, expect to pay around 150-200 pesos for a tricycle fare.

Love this hotel. It's right on the main road near the best restaurants, freshly renovated, clean and the rooms are big and comfortable. I booked 2 night and ended up extending for the my whole stay in Subic
