There is no large sign out front identifying the restaurant, just large red letters saying café. There is a small sign on the entrance door. Take the time to find the place, it is well worth the effort. This is a good typical old fashioned café. They serve good food, have good service and do not rush you out (a rare treat nowadays). We usually go to the one on blondo street, but decided to give this one a try. On a recent visit with a friend I had the gourmet browns (basically a hash brown casserole). It had ham, green peppers, onions, cedar cheese and an egg cooked inside of it. It was very good. The only change I would suggest is to put the cooked egg on top of it, instead of mixing it up inside of it. There is nothing better then breaking the yolk of an egg open and letting it run down over your food. My friend said that his sausage and cheese omelet was very good. We both had the 3 small pancakes with our meal. They were light, fluffy and flavorful. Portions are just the right size that you do not have to worry about taking leftovers with you. Also, the lunch and early bird specials are a very good value. If you are looking to have a good relaxing meal, this is your place to come. REMEMBER: Cash and local checks only.

Of all the locations, this one is the nicest. They just remodeled, and it's nice and clean. The food is good so long as your only expectation is café food. They prepare it fresh, and the service is quick. The only negative is that this place gets noisy when busy. They keep the coffee cups filled. I come to Billy's often, and will continue to do so.
Excellent thick sliced French Toast -----11 Nov, 2013----- Amidst a sea of ethnically diverse restaurants, as well as fast and quick casual places, lies Billy's. Sort of stuck in a bygone era, menu wise, this diner nevertheless perseveres. The food is strictly diner style, which means unfussy, but tasty. The only thing vaguely healthy on the menu is oatmeal. Service was prompt. The atmosphere is fairly pleasant, so long as you don't look up at the grossly discolored ceiling tiles, which can border on the nauseating. (Come on, guys, invest a few bills to replace those suckers.) They don't take credit or debit cards, which is bizarre in this day and age, particularly for west Omaha. (Several ATMs are located in nearby parking lots.) One other thing, don't expect to find their name outside on a sign. Instead look just to the right of Thai Pepper. This isn't my sort of restaurant, but they seem to have found their niche.
