Holt County Grill - Oneill

Good service, reasonably priced. Wife ordered bangbang with chicken. It was ok at best, light on chicken. I ordered fried chicken diner. Chicken was overcooked and dry. Some breading was almost black. Potatoes and gravy were good and veggies very good.

It is hard to believe that such a delicious, diverse menu like this can exist and strive in a cowboy town like O'Neill, NE! If you get the opportunity, you've got to try this restaurant. The waitstaff should be equally praised with a dining room full of guests, she did not leave us waiting at all. I am often hard pressed to find that kind of service in big city Omaha.

I had their French Dip sandwich, and it came with home fried chips. The cheese on the sandwich is a nice touch, but the chips and au jus really push the salt content of the meal. I'd recommend asking for an alternate side dish. Otherwise, great decor, great service. Give the deviled eggs a try they are delicious!

Be sure to stop in on a Wednesday when they're developing new deserts and utilizing the patrons as taste testers! Finest gourmet cook in Holt county Nebraska. We enjoyed two different chicken dinners, the southern chicken and the herb grilled chicken dinners. They come with a house salad, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables.
