Rainforest Cafe - Ontario

I visited this restaurant for the first time and I absolutely loved it. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The ambiance of this restaurant is what truly sets it apart. It's a great place to have a meal with the kids! However, when it comes to the food and service, I would say it's just average. It is a bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected considering the atmosphere. The service really disappointed me. We made a reservation for lunch with friends and our children's department, but the table wasn't ready until 15 minutes after our scheduled time. It then took nearly an hour for our order to be taken. The server was direct but not very friendly, and seemed to be having a bad day. I would rate the food 7/10, the quality 8/10, the service 5/10, and the prices are on the higher side.

This was my family's first visit back to the Rainforest Cafe since the pandemic and unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The service was great and the wait times were reasonable, but the food quality was lacking. The children's dino bites were soggy, the steak was incredibly dry, the ribs were also dry, and the coconut shrimp were half the size they used to be and also dry. Despite paying for the ambiance, I expected the food to be at least edible. We were all left feeling completely abandoned and didn't even finish our meals. As much as my family used to enjoy dining at the Rainforest Cafe, I fear we may not return. It simply isn't worth the money.

Experience with take-out:I went here because I had a $25 reward from Landry's. I saw the prices on the menu and was shocked that I wouldn't be able to get much with that money, so I was expecting to be disappointed (especially after seeing reviews). However, I was actually quite impressed with the food! The pastalaya was really good and worth getting again! I also got the caribbean rice as a side. It was nice (black beans in it), but nothing worth getting again. Cobb salad was pretty good. I went back another time with another $25 voucher and got the fish tacos and they were SO good! Once again I was very impressed! We also got a kid's meal with cheeseburger sliders, but nothing too impressive about them.

Our first time there it was a great experience… good food, drinks vibe with flirtatious waiters ? all in all good experience.
