Írjon visszajelzéstI have only eaten here twice but it’s on my way home from the lake so I plan to stop many, many more times in the future. I inhaled my food the first time and I didn’t get a picture of the biscuit but let me tell you- that was the BEST biscuit, fried chicken, and rice dressing I EVER ate. And the fresh squeezed lemonade is so good too. I called before I came the first time because I can’t have shrimp so FYI if you have an allergy they DO NOT fry their chicken in the same grease. The atmosphere is fast food, in and out dining with a drive thru but they go above and beyond. The sweet lady behind the counter asked me how I was doing and if I wanted anything with my biscuit and brought me some honey to my table. I forgot to add that the pricing is more than fair! It was only $11 for me and my son, both full meals! Great experience from the food to the service
After seeing the sign for Mama's countless times on our way to and from Lafayette, we finally stopped to give it a try and we were not disappointed! The fried pickles were definitely the star of the show perfectly battered and deliciously crispy. The fried chicken was good, but pretty standard for the area. My daughter got a double cheeseburger and it was juicy and delicious! She chose the fried okra for her side and it was really good as well!
I happened stop by Opelousas for something on an empty stomach so I was pleasantly surprised to see Mama’s Fried Chicken on my route. The place itself is an older mom-and-pop type family restaurant. The parking lot did not appear to be very big and it was full even though lunch rush was over. Since I was traveling through, it was nice that they have a drive through (actually, 2 for my convenience. The menu had a big selection and variety and from reviews I’ve read, it seemed like everything was pretty good. I went with the 2 piece fried chicken dinner, I mean the place is named after fried chicken! They had several sides too, not just the usual fries. I chose the rice dressing. I added a drink to my order and my total came out to $7.58. My order was taken quickly and I didn’t have to wait long for the food. The picture of the food I posted doesn’t look the best, but the food was hot and fresh. The biscuit that came with my order was pretty good, the chicken had a spice to it, but could be a little more seasoned in my opinion, and the rice dressing was good. I would also like to add that I wasn’t given any napkins in my bag. I don’t know about everybody else, but if I go through a drive through, I usually try to eat it in the car. Napkins would have been great since everything was pretty oily and got a little messy. (Thank goodness I keep hand wipes in my car though! If I have another chance to be in the area, I’d like to come back and try some of the other menu items!
Dined in late probably around 8pm, the service was great the workers who take your order are very friendly. Ordered 2pc dark fried chicken with fried pickles. Chicken was crunchy but there wasnt much flavor or seasoning I could taste. The fried pickles they seasoned just one side, and put a little too much cajun seasoning on them. Wife ordered a shrimp poboy, decent amount of shrimp but again lacking flavor and seasoning. Also ordered the funnel cake it was crispy on the outside but soggy towards the middle. Only ate a little bit of that
Don't know what happened to the one on hwy 190 westbound. It used to be really good years ago. They seem to now focus on serving crunchy half cooked chicken at swordfish prices. I do not recommend this one AT ALL!
