I ordered the omakase, and each piece was a delicious bite of imported fish from Japan, complemented by Japanese sake and beer, all of which were fantastic. Be prepared to spend over $100 per person if you sit at the bar, but it’s absolutely worth it. Reservations are essential! As for kid-friendliness: it’s not the right place for children. Service was excellent. Meal type: Dinner.
The omakase is an excellent value! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5
With that said, the restaurant truly delivers on the Japanese vibe and authenticity. The chefs are indeed Japanese, and you can ask them questions about the dishes—they respond knowledgeably. Although we didn’t go there specifically for sushi (even though many patrons were ordering omakase), we tried a variety of other dishes, including salmon and young yellowtail collars, crab-stuffed salmon, tempura, and liver. The standout dish for me was the salmon collar. It was rich and moist, easily the most delicious item we ordered, far surpassing the young yellowtail, which was less fatty and tasted a bit fishier. The tempura was served hot, but the batter was quite thick, which overshadowed the shrimp with an overly oily flavor. A lighter batter would have allowed the shrimp to shine through better. The crab-stuffed salmon was decent; while the crab inside was tasty, the salmon on the edges left something to be desired. I didn’t try the liver, so I can't comment on that. I would love to return one day for the omakase experience, where I can engage with the chefs at the bar.
Best omikase for its price I highly recommend! Recommend showing up 15 min before opening so you can get a spot otherwise you will have to make a reservation! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
This restaurant can be quite variable depending on where you're seated. My first visit was enjoyable and offered good value. However, on my second visit, I was seated at the bar with a different chef, and the experience was notably different. The presentation of the sushi was lacking—there were fewer knife cuts, some pieces had insufficient sauce, and the rice-to-fish ratio varied. Overall, it felt very average. I wish there was an option to request a specific chef, as it would enhance the experience. Alternatively, they should consider retraining the staff to maintain better quality control. Given the inconsistency depending on which sushi chef you get, I'm not sure I can recommend this place.
