Halibut House Fish Chips - Orangeville

Overall the food was good. However, the fries could have been a little better. The cost was higher than other fish and chip restaurants in the area, which I reviewed recently.

Brought my family for dinner. We should have walked out as soon as we sat down. Worst service ever. Server was very rude, and we felt like we were not welcome. My Grand daughter ordered children 's halibut and chips. Her fish was no way halibut. She couldn 't eat her meal. My husband also tried her fish and he said it was not fit to eat. The server rolled her eyes and said it was halibut and she wouldn 't comp the child meal also just wslked away, while we were still talking about the wierd taste of kids fish. We a family of 5 will never return. Been to 4 of these locations. This was worst

Take away from the Oakville branch last weekend was the worst food experience. The boxes were dripping with oil. The fish was dry and overcooked and the batter was soggy and sponge like in texture. The chips were even worse. The food was presented to us about three minutes after we ordered so I was immediately suspicious that it had not been freshly prepared and I was right. The chips were soggy, greasy and tasteless, clearly very old and reheated. We put most of it in the bin and after parting with over $40 for dinner for two we felt utterly scammed. They should be closed down.

Good Friday's dinner was disappointing! Dropping over $120.00 for a family of 4, the haddock was over cooked, and I was not impressed with the poutine (which I don't even eat, I order for my husband and eldest child to share). Dry fries, a dollop of gravy and maybe 5 curds on top! (It's a good thing I ordered an extra side of gravy) Addionaly, there we no condiments included this time. I've ordered from this restaurant several times and have enjoyed it, but tonight's order was atrocious. Considering I placed this order online before noon, to pre-order for delivery around dinner time, I expected more quality for the amount of money I just dropped. I give only 2 stars for my past experiences being decent.

We chose this place on a whim because the breakfast place next door ahd an hour wait time. We were not dissapointed. The fish and chiups were excellent and so was the service.
