Townline fish & chips - Orangeville

Having an invalid husband, I have relied for few years on takeout meals. With the recent change in ownership, I was concerned about the change. I am so excited to impart that, although the decor has changed, very nicely I may add, the Service and Quality of food has not. From the moment I telephone my order, to walking in the door of Townline Fish and Chips, getting home and eating a still hot meal, both Hubby and I are very satisfied with the taste of our Fish ‘n Chips, also the Onion Rings and/or sometimes Salad. My friends advise they enjoy dining in the Restaurant. So if you wish a divine meal do not overlook Townline Fish and Chips.

Advised by friends that this place had been renovated recently and under new management so thought we would give it a try. Pleasantly surprised. Great decor, quiet relaxing music, wonderful service and the Haddock and chips were delicious. I opted for their salad instead of chips and it was fresh and almost too pretty too eat. Finished off with the rice pudding, warm and creamy, yummy. Hope they don’t change anything.

We recently dined at this restaurant and were extremely impressed by how clean the entire establishment was. The haddock fish and chips we ordered were generous in portion size and incredibly flavorful, without being greasy. We also highly recommend trying the battered mushrooms and onion rings. This restaurant outshines all others when it comes to fish and chips. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you for providing us with a top-notch dining experience!

It would be difficult to find a tougher piece of halibut. Overcooked. Could not be cut with a kitchen knife, let alone a fork. I was hungry so ordered 2 pieces. Didn't eat all of one and threw the other one in the garbage The chips and cole slaw were, however, very good.

I will never return to this restaurant again. What has happened to it? This was our first time dining here since the change in ownership and we were extremely disappointed. The service from our waitress was very poor, despite the restaurant being almost empty. She was more focused on cleaning tables than attending to customers. Our food took a long time to arrive and when it did, it was cold and overcooked. The fish was dry and chewy, and the batter was hard like concrete. Additionally, the accompanying side dish was brought out late, when I was almost done eating. The waitress even questioned if I was full when I declined the side dish after finishing my meal. It seemed like she was overwhelmed and lacked a sense of priority. As we left, we noticed another table that had been waiting a long time for their food, and they looked frustrated. It appeared that the restaurant prioritized takeout and delivery orders over in-house dining. I am truly disappointed as I used to love this place. Frying fish should not be difficult, it's just a matter of setting a timer and paying attention. Perhaps some practice runs should be done before inviting customers back.
