The Birches - Ordsall

The attitude towards staff here is quite poor, showing a lack of respect for the hardworking individuals behind the scenes who strive to make your dining experience enjoyable. The landlord uses foul language indiscriminately, even in front of children, and staff turnover is alarmingly high. Employees are often required to work long shifts, even when the restaurant is not busy. Both owners seem poorly qualified for their roles, and there have been troubling reports about the landlady's behavior in the kitchen, which is not to be discussed. Many customers have voiced their dissatisfaction, citing issues with the food quality and numerous order mix-ups.

The service was decent, although the restaurant was nearly empty. The pint I ordered was not great, and I couldn't even finish it. The decor felt a bit outdated.

New owners have taken over, and it's starting to feel like the restaurant we used to love. Although the food menu is limited on Mondays and Tuesdays, it was still great to see options like steak and chips, as well as chicken nuggets for our son! We're really glad we decided to give it another chance. The new couple running it is lovely. Here's hoping it returns to being the popular spot it once was!

The pub has been fantastic since it came under new management. Every visit greets you with a warm, friendly welcome in a laid-back atmosphere where you can enjoy a good laugh. I've dined there several times recently, and the food is incredible. They serve the thickest chips in town! I definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t been yet—give it a try! The Sunday carvery is a must. I will certainly be returning soon.
