Írjon visszajelzéstGreat place to eat. Excellence in the ingredients. Great artisan hamburgers. My mother in law had fish and chips and the batter and fish were good. Tasty special Caesar salads with candied bacon. Very good value for money. Comfortable sorroundings. To end your meal great churros like Spain. Todo muy Bueno. Edgardo Perez
I've been going to the Occo Kitchen take out spot on st-Joseph since it opened. The tacos were to die for... My husband and I would pick up tacos from there several times a month, it was our guilty pleasure! I'm a foodie and gravitate towards downtown eating (for obvious reasons) but live in Orleans, so I was thrilled to see this thriving shop open up in my neighborhood that gave us an alternate food option to the main stream boring restaurants there are out here. The ingredients were delicious, the colors were vibrant, and the portions were huge! The price was bit steep, but totally worth it for what you got and it was bang on every time. We raved about this place to everyone!I have to say.... I'm extremely disappointed with the quality over the past few months and have been hearing this from alot of people as well. It's now hit or miss with whether your fish taco is going to be dry or over fried, the caesar salad just swims in dressing, and the portion size has been almost cut in half!!! Also, what ever happened to those little beads of goodness that just exploded flavour into your mouth?I don't know if this is due to word getting around, sales going up and wanting to drastically increase the profit margin but the size and quality of the tacos no longer justifies paying $6 a piece. It also seem as though since the restaurant opened up on Innes road the take out spot has suffered in quality control... It's no longer the "big fish" and you don't feel the owners pride go into each taco as we did before... It now tastes just like the care of any chain restaurant. Super disappointing and I will continue to hope this turns around!
Someone had shared with me how good the seafood chowder was at Occo so I had to go, sadly the best way to describe the experience is to say they should change the name to vegetable chowder. Being from the maritime I feel sad for my friends in Ontario that this passes as seafood. My newfie family would also be embarrassed to see a newfoundland owner that may be in Ontario too long to call this a seafood chowder. Campbell's soup has more seafood.
This is not the restaurant. It is a small hidden-away take out window. There are six or eight stools along a wall-mounted shelf. (I assume to sit while you wait as I can't imagine eating there!) I went to try it out as there had been reviews about line-ups forming outside. Obviously a mistaken concept unless a bunch of take-out folks were unfortunate enough to arrive together and they couldn't fit in the small space at once. After seeing this, I went to the Innes Road location which is a restaurant. I'll discuss the food in that review.
I would agree with other reviewers that you go mostly for the burger and not much else. It is a small take out counter and the prices are on the high side: 16$ for a burger, fries and bottled water. Although we were the only ones in the place at the time, it took about 15-20 minutes to get our order. But that it is rather a good sign because it means that everything is fresh and prepared on the spot for you. The burger was tasty and the homemade fries delicious! They also make nice salads. I like the place but considering it is a burger joint, I am not sure why it made it to the top 5 of Trip Advisor.
