Normally I would write a review later but I 've just had most probably the best lamb ever! My wife had the trout with green salad and her comment was... "Soooo Good!!! Our waitress is so lovely and tries her best to converse in English to make our meal the best experience. This is our second visit within our week 's holiday here at Champex. A definite visit is required!

From the outside the restaurant looked rather tempting: a large wooden chalet, directly across the bus stop Champex-Lac and a few steps from the scenic mountain lake. Unfortunately my lunch was a bit disappointing. The waitress was very cold at the beginning, then polite enough but not overly friendly. As starter I chose the salad with warm goat cheese: generous portion but average quality. The carrot stripes looked dry and old! The main course was better. The entrecote served on a sizzling stone was tender, accompanied by a delicious garlic butter. Unfortunately the potato wedges were the same type as found in a McDonalds! For the high price (CHF42) I would have expected at least homemade wedges. All in all this is an average restaurant but at very high ski resort prices. CHF6.50 for a 50cl mineral water is extortionate.
