Casey Key Resorts Mainland - Osprey

Mold. Mold. Mold. Avoid this place at all costs. My experience here was extremely disappointing and raised serious health and safety concerns. I don't usually write reviews, but this hotel stay was particularly terrible. We were assigned to a main building that looks like it's been around for 20-30 years, and it had a musty, moldy odor that was unbearable. I've never encountered such a strong smell of mold before. There were visible patches of black and green mold on the walls and large holes throughout the room. For the price of $250-$300 per night, I expected much better. The rooms had a staggering 92% humidity level. We traveled as a large group, and half of us decided against staying the night because the smell in the main building was just too overwhelming.

This is not a 4-star hotel. It is a motel, and the marketing photos of the recently renovated rooms are fake. The room smells like urine and mold, the shower had mold, the walls had water damage and was rough. Someone asked for cleaning service at the reception when I checked in and they said they had no cleaning due to their domestic situation at the moment?. Needless to say we didn't stay. I complained and they couldn't change us to a room that looked like their pictures online. Only positive experience was the fact that they have refunded me for my stay, as we refused to stay there (retain everything on the booking forms that say it was not refundable). Apparently someone was murdered in this hotel. The beach side of the hotel is supposed to be beautiful, but it is shocking that the reviews online are positive if this does not reflect the actual hotel.

This place was relatively beautiful. The rooms were beautiful and modern, but they were also very small for two people. The corridors were kind of dingy and they don't have microwaves in the room you have to drive down the hallway. You have a restaurant able and the food was pretty good. The location is very busy and the entrance is small to the in and navigation traffic. It also has a very high amount of guests. It is not a bad place, but would be a good long weekend stay and convenient to take some food during your stay.

The resort experience was disappointing. The room had a stale odor, and the bathroom door didn't close properly. The towels were worn and frayed. We dined at the restaurant, where the advertised 12-ounce rib special turned out to be significantly smaller—only about 7 or 8 ounces after removing the fat. Overall, it was a disappointing visit.

I had a wonderful stay at this restaurant. The room was spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The food was fantastic, and the pool was a nice bonus. The staff were all excellent and the owner/manager was very friendly. If I had to nitpick, I would say that the blinds need to be replaced, as too much light comes in and can disrupt sleep. Additionally, having a microwave in the hallway was a minor inconvenience. Overall, I would rate this as a 5-star experience at a 4-star price! I've stayed here several times and highly recommend it.
