Marlborough Pub & Eatery - Ottawa

My wife and I stopped at this restaurant for lunch. It was our first time at this pub. The restaurant has a real country feel to it. The decor is truly welcoming.We were brought to our table quickly and the waitress was friendly and provided useful information on the food listed on the menu. We ordered our meals. For a simple lunch, it took a fair amount of time to get our plates (something like 35 to 45 minutes). My wife ordered the quesadilla and myself the Marlborough burger. There was no presentation to speak of. It was simply food put on a plate.If you like quantity over taste, this is your place. While the food was plentiful, it was regrettably blend. For example, for the burger, while there were most of the trimmings, the beef patty was overcooked and void of any taste. The bun was big, plain and cold. In all, barely a passing grade for me. In all, I recommend this restaurant to food lovers, however those who look for tasty food, think twice about going to this restaurant.

We stopped by for lunch and both opted for wings, which happened to be one of the Monday specials at half price, as well as splitting an order of fries. I'm not sure if the timing was at fault (it was after the usual lunch rush) but some of the wings weren't as hot as they should have been, a few mixed in were piping, and we found them rather tough and chewy; it's as though they were cooked and then reheated. If we'd paid full price, we likely would have sent them back. The accompanying fries were OK and there were a lot of them. We will likely return to try one of their other menu items but will pass on the wings next time.

We were a big group but they found us a spot and the food was pretty good.Nice country setting in small town Ontario, Our waitress was a little distracted to start, but turned out to be pleasant and efficient. I loved my Quesadilla and the rest of the group was happy with their meals. The pickles were delicious. Great prices for nice sized portions. Don't forget to pickup your fresh buttertarts from the fridge on the lounge side. Just pay the bartender on your way out. They were melt in your mouth awesome.

Great pub ambiance is wonderful as is the staff.Menu offers something for eveyone, would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place.Try the zucchini sticks they were great.

Good food, good service, good prices. They service great breakfast for a good price. I'm vegetarian and have good choices.
