Jonathan's Bbq Seafood Soul Food Cajun Creole

There must've been just one person cooking because the servers brought out food one plate at a time, 10-15 minutes apart. It was torture to watch them.Worse, when I cut into the ribs, they were clearly not smoked at all. They were grayish in color and looked boiled. I liked the pineapple baked beans.The air was stuffy inside, and the table was sticky. On the plus side, every table had a bottle of hand sanitizer.

I just ate the BBQ Buffet from here and i can confidently say that it was one of if not the biggest rip-offs I 've ever experienced. The food wasn 't bad per say but the selection of food was awful. There were only two proteins total on this 18 dollar buffet, which would make it one of the highest priced buffets in the city i might add. Where for that price most places would offer crab, steak, shrimp, octopus, etc. aka high priced proteins and multiples of them at that. Jonathan 's only offers fried wings and fried fish which you can anywhere. The only other selections at this buffet were green beans, potato salad, sweet potato, and some sort of BBQ noodles. I was expecting there to be actual BBQ, like brisket, ribs, burnt ends, etc. like the abundant signs outside made it seem and like the high price would indicate, but there was no BBQ to be found. Just an 18 dollar buffet with like 8 items total and only two proteins. I didn 't even get full which I do at most buffets, I just tried everything then asked decided it wasn 't for me and left. I am now at home making myself food to actually get full which after coming here, I think i should 've just done that in the first place.

IT WAS RAINING SO HARD TODAY FINALLY GOT A CHANCE TO STOP AND CHECK OUT THIS AWESOME PLACE. I LOVE A BUFFET. AND IM SO HAPPY WE HAVE ANOTHER SOUL FOOD BESIDES PEACH TREE AND KC DAIQUIRI. IT STARTS AT 11a AND IT WAS $18 I ATE JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ON THE BUFFET FRIED CHICKEN WINGS-FRIED FISH-PASTA-COLLARD GREENS-GREEN BEANS -POTATO SALAD-CORN-AND THE CUCUMBERS WERE DELICIOUS ALSO AND THERE IS COKE SPRITE ROOT BEER AND THE 2 YOUNG LADIES WERE SO NICE AND POLITE. AND I LOVED THE BATHROOM WAS CLEAN AND THE DECOR WAS REALLY NICE ITS WORTH IT. I COULD’NT EAT BUT 1 PLATE GO CHECK IT OUT. THE SOUND OF JAZZ MUSIC PLAYING THROUGHOUT THE RESTAURANT. I LOVED IT THEY ALSO HAVE A DINNER BUFFET. I HOPE THAT THE OWNER OPENS UP ANOTHER CLOSER TO MIDTOWN KC OR KCKS

Had the all you can eat buffet. Not worth the $25. The fish and chicken was just ok. The greens, yams,green beans were all out of the can no flavor. The pasta was sweet (never heard of sweet pasta). The pulled pork was salty as heck. The turkey meatloaf (if that's what you want to call it). Needless to say being from the south myself it wasn't any soul in that food. I left hungry.

I have been going to Johnathan's for some time now to get my cajun food fix. Every dish I have had so far has been appropriately spiced: from the classic cajun dishes to southern spins on common dishes like potato salad and mac and cheese. The gumbo, jambalaya, and étouffée are all prepared fresh with high-quality ingredients and with the expertise of a chef that knows their fare.The staff are friendly, knowledgable, and ready to help you with any questions that you might have. I have gone during lunch and dinner service and had take-away and delivery as well. Each time, the food has been consistently stellar and in any service mode, I have always been given every thing necessary to enjoy my meal.The ambiance is what I would call cajun modern. Every surface is clean and well organized. It is not kitschy or gimmicky. Facts about the food, culture and location where the recipes are sourced are on the walls with nice pictures. The music choice is contemporary and the volume of it is just right.One last note: the banana pudding desert is one of the best in the breed. Bananas are fresh. The pudding is smooth, rich and sweet. The vanilla wafers are appropriately soft without being soft. All the flavors and textures blend into a delightful sensation for your after meal treat.
