Sarku Japan - Oviedo

This is one of the largest kitchens in all of Central Florida. If I had the authority to award Michelin stars, this restaurant would easily receive six! It's a hidden gem, and I genuinely urge everyone in the Central Florida area to visit and order the sarku with white rice, no sweet sauce. The thought that anyone might overlook this review and miss out on such incredible food fills me with regret for their missed opportunity. My heart aches for those who have yet to experience this place. I encourage them to read this and partake in the experience; they certainly won't regret it. I had a disappointing experience at Teriyaki Japan (or Sarku Japan). The cashier, who seems to be the owner, was not only rude but also displayed a negative attitude toward Hispanic customers. This interaction has left me with no desire to return—my last visit was certainly my last. The management here lacks respect for their customers, to the point where they refuse to give change. I love this place. Very nice people and efficient and appreciate the time of people. Line always moves fast. I'm looking for Sarku and ALWAYS to get Sarku in front of a movie. It has become tradition for more than 3 years

If you are a person of color, be prepared to face some discrimination here, which can be really obvious and embarrassing. The first time I experienced an issue, I thought it was just a mistake. But today, when I paid extra for chicken and only received half the portion, I realized this wasn’t just coincidental. I’ve always tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I didn’t want to make a scene over an $11.21 mistake, so I waited until I got to my car to call and let the woman know there was an error. Her exact response was, “I don’t know what to say. I’m sorry. I don’t remember you.” While I understand she may not remember me, the least she could have done was correct the mistake. I had specified a special order and paid extra for the chicken. They even put toothpicks in the box to indicate I paid extra. Yet, the chef removed it, added a few pieces of chicken, and said it was done. I was in shock and disbelief because the person behind me received a generous portion of the same order. I wish I had opened my box to show how unfair it was. The staff seems to prioritize certain customers while neglecting others, despite being aware of what portions go to whom. Reviews will likely continue to be positive, as Oviedo is full of their regular customers.

Service was excellent, you actually see the chicken being prepared the price is right and choice of food great. Tastes fantastic
