The Windmeul Restaurant is a small cozy restaurant. Nice to spent time with good company. Wine tasting is offered here. The food are lovely presented and tastefull. This is the farm from where Piet Retief led his people inland during the historic Groot Trek with oxwagons other the surrounding mountains. His brothers descendant who stayed behind on the farm ancestors is still owning and running the farm almost four decades later.

Such a lovely Wine farm! We came here as a family, on a rainy day in August. The hosts are so nice, friendly and very hospitable. The food offered during the tasting is delicious! The freshly baked bread and muffins were scrumptious! They also make the preserves themselves. Hearing the stories behind each wine was also such a nice treat. It was a wonderful trip out! It would’ve been nice to come when it was sunny, perhaps we could have seen more of the farm. But it was extremely cozy and relaxing with the rain. Dan is a fantastic host! It was really great just chatting to him and learning more about the farm and the family history. There was also this adorable little lamb in the house! Sooo cute! Definitely a Wine farm I would recommend to visit!
