Carmel's Bistro Giovanni

As soon as you step into this charming, casual restaurant with an Italian touch, you'll feel the warmth of friendly service and the promise of delicious food. We chose to sit on the private sidewalk, and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the attentive staff, and the tasty dishes. This little gem is definitely a must-visit when you're in Carmel!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner, accompanied by the lively presence of both local regulars and visiting guests. It's evidently a prime spot for celebrity spotting and mingling with interesting people. The owner has flourished and genuinely enjoys welcoming everyone, often greeting them multiple times. It's refreshing to see someone maintain such style at her age, and she handles any moments of forgetfulness with a delightful charm.

I was referred to this restaurant by a family friend and happened to be in the area. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious, and I could tell it was authentic and made with top-quality ingredients! The atmosphere was quite cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Misto Di Mare, Caesar Salad, and Tiramisu, and they were all fantastic. The pasta was flavorful and packed with delightful seafood. The salad was also delicious, and the dressing was to die for! The Tiramisu was moist, sweet, and incredibly tasty. I would highly recommend it—10/10! My experience and the food were both amazing!

If you can get a table GO. If we were locals, we'd eat here two times a week. The menu, kitchen design and waiters are exceptional. My husband is an experienced cook and we? both experienced ?eaters? happy enough to travel for work and pleasure. We dinate more than we should and are not easy to please. Italian is high in our favorite food category and we? re from the east coast good Italian food is in our blood. This place was not disappointed. Italian classic with a (welcomed) California Twist executed. Ie: fresh, garden veggies served with my chicken parm and pasta. I was skeptical, but not after the first bite. Trust me. I'm really sad I don't have this restaurant home as a stacking option? but I digress, THANKFUL for the DELICIOUS foods attentive / hardworking employees?. A truly WONDERFUL experience all around. Grab a table and thank me later. As a supplement: I had the privilege of meeting Giovanni's brother class act and a highlight for an already magical evening. What an unbelievable meal!! Best we had all vacation. Amazing options, even for vegetarians like myself, and outdoor patio with heaters in a cozy alley as well as out front. Our server never rushed us despite us taking our time due to seeing a friend after a long time and we appreciated it. Great selection of the Block 57 wines!
