Jfc - Paihia

This is hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had! The fish is super fresh and prepared really nicely. This restaurant is inside a beautiful old house with a waterfront view. The bar tender/server is super friendly and helpful!

Best restaurant in town! The ambience in the restaurant really fits the coastal town vibe the staff are absolutely lovely. All the dishes we had were amazing, the fish is freshly caught every day! Next to all this the restaurant is also really cheap for what you get, great value for money!

Great food, great spot and great staff. Had the prawn cocktail, grilled prawns, oysters and the chips. The prawn cocktail was great and the grilled prawns were awesome, just a bit expensive. The oysters were great if you like them huge. They were too big for some of us but that could be a bonus for others. Only concern I had was the beer lines for the Estrella needed to be cleaned as I could tell it was that time. Switched to bottled beer and was great. I would have mentioned it discreetly but the staff on that particular day weren't familiar on the bar. This may have been resolved later in the day. The staff were super friendly and helpful regardless and the host the second time we went was really good at his job. Made everyone walking in feel welcome. Will definitely go back!

My fiancé and I were really looking forward to going to this restaurant while we were in Paihia, and it did not disappoint! Amazing food and the nicest people, from the front of house team to the bartender to the owners of this lovely establishment. It was so good we went two nights in a row! Highly recommend the Seafood Platter for Two and to not skip dessert. Everything we tried was delicious and beautifully plated, but we especially enjoyed the salmon dill terrine and garlic butterflied prawns (part of the Seafood Platter) and the apple cake with custard. On our second visit, we finished eating 30 min before our ride was supposed to come. Louise saw us waiting around and called Chester, who kindly drove us back to where we were staying! We are so grateful for your kindness and hospitality, and we can’t wait to return for a round three the next time we visit Paihia!

Licensed venue with Fantastic seafood, trendy decor and licensed bar. Would recommend to other travelers. Only drawback was the lack of training provided to the front of house staff as they didn't know the menu, POS system nor basic logistical knowledge for the premises, (which is clearly a management issue)
