Bistro 70 Painesville

We stopped for dinner tonight after spotting lobster bisque on the menu, and since we're big fans of it, we were excited to try it. It did not disappoint—the lobster bisque was outstanding! The crowded grouper was also really delicious. We can't wait to return!

The restaurant is absolutely delightful! The service is exceptional, and the quality of the ingredients is outstanding. The Bistro Burger is the best I've ever tasted, and the Chicken Melt is amazing! As for dessert, the Brown Butter Cake is the finest in Lake County!

During my first visit to Bistro 70, I was initially underwhelmed. The restaurant felt warm and had a diner-like atmosphere. We were seated right by the kitchen door, which could definitely use a fresh coat of paint. When I asked the waiter for a recommendation, he seemed unable to suggest anything, which was a bit off-putting. Luckily, we decided to stay, and I’m glad we did because the meal turned out to be excellent. The chef even came out to check on how we liked our food. For dessert, we ordered the brown butter cake with vanilla ice cream, and it was delicious. A few nicer touches, such as cloth tablecloths, could really enhance the experience, but overall the food was impressive. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A bonus from the bat is that they have a reservation system! This is sometimes hard to find, but Bistro 70 practiced this convenient way to get a table without waiting with a vibrating hockey puck in the hand. Parking is abundant. The atmosphere is very comfortable and appealing, all that should be a bistro. The menu is varied and very favorable. Large selection of wines, martinis, beer and special drinks. The food was amazing, I ordered the Blackened Shrimp with Chef's Risotto and the Vegetable DuJour, it was amazing. Perfect grill of shrimp along with a perfectly cooked risotto. Not sure how I let this jewel escape in Painesville, but I'm glad I found it!

Always great service with a warm atmosphere. Bree was a gracious host behind the bar. From appetizers, to main course, this place never disappoints. A gem that's only a short drive.
