If you're in Palakkad and looking for a quick bite while shopping, this restaurant is a good choice. While the cleanliness is okay and the place is always crowded, it's not ideal for a leisurely meal. However, the quality of the freshly prepared food is excellent, with a variety of South Indian dishes such as idlis, vadas, dosas, and the local specialty, varati. The coffee is also great, but make sure to specify if you don't want milk and sugar, as that is the default. Conveniently located near the town center and bus station.
I visited Hariharputra with my family in August 2019. We all enjoyed the delicious food and even got some takeaway for our parents.
If you are a vegetarian and happen to be in Palakkad, dining at this hotel will be a delight. Many traditional dishes like elayada, kozhakatta, kesari, and rava laddu, which have faded in popularity, are revitalized at Hotel Harharaputhra. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The prices are reasonable and affordable for many. Improved cleanliness in the restroom area would be appreciated.
