Írjon visszajelzéstWent on Christmas Eve for a set menu dinner with a few choices for the 4 courses. The person who confirmed the reservation said the price was $74 per person. When the bill came is was $94 per person. Not cool! Caesar salad was average. Scampi shrimp pasta dish had a few small canned cocktail shrimp. Definitely not scampi. The short rib was very good. Dessert toffee cake was dry. Nice ambiance. Very good service. Overpriced for the quality dishonest about the pricing. Won’t be returning. The dress code is a joke. People wearing shorts tee shirts in the dining room lounge. I emailed my concerns to the restaurant but they never responded. NOT RECOMMENDED
From the moment we arrived and the valet parking was $10.00, I knew it was going to be more pricey than expected. Even the bread was an extra charge. They weren 't exactly packed on a Friday evening before Season, but the waiter tried to hurry us to order by using the commonly used scenario we have 2 large parties of 10 and 12 coming in and if you don 't order soon it may take a long time, maybe as long as 45 minutes to an hour . I was shocked to hear this at a fine restaurant like Melvyn 's. There were 2 of us. We continued to take our time with cocktails and had a small order of oysters. Yes, they were small. Bottom line, the food was very good, the portions small except for the creamed spinach.
Old time Hollywood vibe in this Sintra favourite. But I'm not a fan of steak so the huge portion of hamburger was a bit much for me. My husband said the steak was fine too. Caesar was great though.
My husband and I were on our first night of our vacation so we looked up BEST restaurants in Palm Springs. Melvyn’s came up as #1 based on food, service and ambiance. So, we went. Our dinner was nonplus (ribeye, wedge and spinach). The steak, honestly, was almost horrible. Our food came very quickly. We were seated at 5:08 and left at 5:58 Our server knew we weren’t happy with the $50 steaks (cos we told her) but she didn’t offer anything. Nothing. Not even the most important thing…to talk with the manager. Service wasn’t great as advertised unless filling a glass of water after each sip constitutes great service. The only good thing, honestly, was their specialty old fashion cocktail. We will never go back and never recommend it to anyone we know. Just an awful dinner experience!
Dinner at Melvyns was phenomenal. The service was upstairs and the food was great. came here for my birthday with my dad and wasn't disappointed. The bread is delicious with crispy outside and soft inside. Steak Diane with mash potatoes was very full. Dad has the chicken pancake and the side of Mac and cheese. Everything in all great experience will definitely be back next year... or maybe sooner
