Retiro Azul - Palmela

The restaurant is really easy to find, directly at the roundabout at the bus stop. parking is directly outside, can not be more comfortable. there were four of us to dinner and we booked for 8.15 clock there was a party of about 20 or so celbrating. an event and ourselves. the waiters were prompt, friendly, helped and looked at us very well. we had steaks and heavy fish and many drinks. when it was time for sweets, we chose the chocolate pampering. excellent!

My man and I have just completed a second wonderful dinner in retiro azul in rural palmela portugal on the half island setubal. koch oscar's long-term experience showed up in his creative and absolutely tasty presentation of the local farm too table and ozean to table fresh...and varied foods too. loved my smiles with the same brittle and joined with juicy and roasted sweet potatoes. Yesterday was roasted swarm with grapes incomparable. local weine have added additional ceste!

Retiro Azul, o clássico de Palmela.Local de passagem, tanto para os que visitam a vila como para os que cá vivem.Aqui bebe-se o tipico café da manha ou da tarde, e lê-se ou compra-se a revista e o jornal. E porque não fazer o totoloto e o eurmilhões?Aqui poder-se-à também encontrar a pastelaria típica da região, como por exemplo as famosas fogaças de Palmela, e beber um moscatel.

We had planned to have dinner at the Pousada but wanted an authentic Portuguese meal, so Tiago suggested Retiro Azul in Palmela. He drove us, and introduced us to the owners, and we had an incredible meal. We had the Queijinho de Azeitao & Estaladico de alheira come maca to start (divine), the Lascas de bacalhau com broa (codfish) & Bife da vazia (veal steak) for mains (sublime) and finished with chocolate mouse and an apple pie crepe. Add in countless litres of local wine and it made for one unforgettable night. The food was beyond expectation, and Ana provided a wonderful welcome.
