Dex's Dogs - Palmer Lake

Have not had a bad meal here yet! We love the family friendly atmosphere and try to stop by at least once a week!

Greg (owner and his family are super friendly and hospitable. They offer some quality home style cooking, made with care. They have recently started a fried catfish special on Friday nights. The fish was exellent, as were the turnip greens that came with it. On separate occasions, I have also had their chicken dumplings, biscuits gravy, quiche, fried peaches and most of their various hot dogs. It has all been good. The place is very casual and family friendly, so don't expect anything fancy and you should not be disappointed. I rarely give restaurants or any other services five stars because I believe something has to be truly exceptional to warrant that. But considering Greg family's hospitality and heart, their lovingly prepared food (especially the catfish! and the quaint locale... 5 stars!

Best burger I 've had in a long, long time! Buffalo dog was delicious as well! Greg was friendly and attentive. Prices are maybe a bit on the high side; burger, hot dog and a side of very tasty fried okra roughly $25. Greg threw in a free fountain drink. Not so bad though considering the burger and dog were gourmet style. I will definitely be back!

This a small quaint place with limited seating and is low key. It feels like a food truck, except without the truck. I went for lunch with my family, and the food and service were good. The Dex dog was better than the pizza dog, but both were good. The hot dog is pretty big and is served with chips. We ordered at the counter, and they brought our food out to us. I was a little disappointed the fountain drinks did not have a diet option, but they had diet in cans. They have free popcorn. Would go back if in the area wanting something quick and easy.

This place is amazing. A home friendly feel from the moment you walk in the door. Amazing customer service from start to finish. Just picked up my niece from day camp with my mum and wanted something different for dinner. I ate here back on the 4th of July and wanted to spread the word. My niece loved the corn dog, my mum loved the South of the Boarder Burger and I had Dex's Burger. Mouthwatering deliciousness! Get in and get some!
