Írjon visszajelzéstBack for their second season, the Octopus gang are picking up where they left off last year.Providing a welcome change from the copy/paste aspect of so many other restaurants in the area and on the beach.A nice fusion of West in the East. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time anywhere - bigger, juicer, and tastier this year, and they were damned fine last year.Proper Sunday roasts are a welcome option, and this year there a bouillabaisse available too.Come for the cocktails, stay for the vibe and good food.
I've eaten in Octopus 3 times, had a take-out once, and visited several other times for drinks - it's wonderful, which is why we go back so often. Being a vegetarian, I can truly vouch for the veg food options - the choice isn't as wide as the non-veg options, but every dish is gorgeous - be it nut roast on Sunday (with gravy, yorkshire pud and veggies) or a veg burger with chips and coleslaw or the salads or starters. What Octopus put on the menu they have obviously considered very carefully, and they only do what they can do well and with the freshest seasonal local produce. Portion sizes are very generous. My non-veg companions always love Octopus too, the burgers, the chicken/beef Sunday roasts... Comforting, satisfying, memorable food, and the desserts are divine. Wine list has been broadened recently by popular demand - or maybe it was just me asking for more and more of it :) Bathrooms are modern, bright and clean with large mirrors. The atmosphere is funky yet classic, chilled yet warm - very very welcoming. Super place to enjoy meals with your partner, friends, family or groups. I always leave with a smile on my face.Even if you tend to eat at home or in cheaper local Indian restaurants, if you want a taste of the West, or a treat, or an indulgence, or simply a lovely food experience that will tempt you back again and again, Octopus is the place go.
We had a lovely meal at Octopus tonight. The veggie burger and Goan burger were both really delicious, as were the happy hour cocktails. The atmosphere and music were perfect for a chilled Saturday evening and it was a great spot to watch over the paddy fields. We would definitely recommend Octopus and will be back soon for the famous Sunday lunch. Thanks to Peter and crew for a great evening!
Get off the beach and visit Octopus on the Chaudi road, just a couple of kliks from Patnem, to find very good Modern European cuisine. This season the excellent burgers continue with some new & interesting dishes added including Bouillibasse - fish soup French style, a good vegetarian selection, the traditional Sunday Roast, (I think the only place around where you'll find pork crackling or homemade horseradish sauce, complete with all the trimmings). Also new interesting desserts like the 'deconstructed' fruit crumbles. The MAIN attraction for me is the recent addition of a 'full monty' breakfast/brunch on Saturdays only for Chaudi Market Day...wonder of wonders, Peter, the owner, has managed to source CUMBERLAND SAUSAGE & BLACK PUDDING!!!Octopus is really worth the effort of dragging yourself out of the beach cafes, and makes a lovely change from local Indian food.Oh, and there are great offers on COCKTAILS which Pete, a mixologist from London, wizzes up to perfection!
At Octopus you find something different then other Goa places: high class service for normal price & real European cuisine as well as Indian. While enjoying an endless view on buffalo fields. Definately coming back!
