Bayside and Lounge - Parksville

The food at the restaurant was delicious, although not spectacular - just really good. However, our waitress was lacking in service. Despite appearing friendly, she made us feel as though we needed to apologize for our requests and gave us the occasional eye roll. She also seemed to have trouble with her memory, constantly misplacing her note pad and struggling to remember anything without it. It was Valentine's Day and the restaurant was busy, so our drinks took longer to arrive than our food. We ended up spending about 1.5 hours there and my second drink, which was ordered before our food arrived, didn't make it to the table until we were ordering dessert. Overall, I would consider giving the restaurant another try to see if this experience was just a one-time occurrence.

The food, service, and ambiance at this restaurant were exceptional. It has become our favorite spot for fine dining. Since moving to Parksville in August 2023, we have dined at Bayside four times. The special menus for New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day were top-notch and deserving of five stars.

We requested a half or smaller portion of the seafood Cobb salad and were refused. The portion size was too big and not suitable for taking home as it becomes too soggy. The Qualicum Beach Inn serves smaller portions of the same salad with higher quality seafood.

Fantastic service and quality fresh seafood! We had the seared scallops and seared ahi tuna steak and mushroom ravioli which were absolutely fantastic! Good wine selection! Highly recommend!
