El Pollo Loco - Pearland

I ordered the shredded beef birria. The beef had a reasonable flavor—not overly seasoned but not bland either. I did add my own seasoning, as it came with a dipping sauce that lacked any flavor and tasted mostly greasy, like I was just eating oil. The spicy sauce I added was great, featuring a ghost pepper kick. I wasn't fond of the beans or rice, as they were quite tasteless. The prices were fair, but I probably won’t be back; however, it was worth a try.

I have eaten there twice. The second time was more disappointing than the first. There was very little chicken and avocado on my Chicken and Avocado Street tacos. The first time there was a good amount of chicken and it was tasty.

I love El Pollo Loco. The food is great. The problem is that they are often out of what I want. Last time they had no breasts or wings. Another time it was something else.

I visit this place nearly three times a week. Today was like any other day, but I was having a rough time. However, when I reached the drive-thru, Mr. Kevin completely changed my day. He was incredibly friendly and had an overall great vibe. He definitely lifted my spirits!

The restaurant was messy, the cashier wouldn’t acknowledge me or other people and someone forgot to check for mobile orders, so I had to wait for 20 minutes for them to prepare the food. No one apologized or acknowledged the mistake. They finally gave me my food and the soda was leaking all over the counter and my cup, overall just kind of a bad attitude. The food was well prepared and delicious. We did, however, ask for no onions on one item and got onions on it.
