One of the few, if not the only one, that serves Bak Kut Teh the way it's meant to. Kangkung Belacan is also perfect with rice!

Today was the 2nd time I tried Sambal Chef and just like the 1st time, they did not disappoint. My friends and I came in with a party of 6, and the service provided was friendly and attentive. Superb!! The food was incredible!! IMO, it is the BEST Malaysian restaurant in town. Everything was unique, flavorful and cooked to perfection. A few of my favorite dishes were the roti canai, it was a little bit thicker, fluffier, and crispier than most places which means it soaks up the curry better; the Hainanese Chicken was crispy and flavorful, and I gotta say I liked it so much better than the way that most places usually cooked them; the water spinach with sambal belacan was a hit! The hokkien mee (udon noodles stirred fried with veggies, chicken seafood in chicken broth dark soy sauce) was cooked to perfection. The salted egg wings shrimps were also our group’s favorites. I highly recommended you all to give this place a try. I’m willing to make the drive to Pearland because the food is definitely worth it.

One of the few Malaysian restaurants in Houston. The owner was very kind but they ran out of crab that day due to Labor Day weekend. Instead we got chilli shrimp, very tasty.
