Mizuki Asian Bistro - PENNINGTON

Mizuki offers fresh, beautifully presented sushi with excellent service at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is casual yet lovely, making for a fun dining experience. What keeps me coming back is their generous softshell crab. Many places serve softshell crab that’s mostly batter or hardly has any meat, but Mizuki serves the actual crab, even including it in their spider roll! It’s delicious. I travel all the way from Pennsylvania just to enjoy their food.

Mizuki is likely the most versatile restaurant in the area. It offers great value, high-quality food, and is perfect for a quick snack or a lovely lunch/dinner with friends, family, colleagues, or a date. You really can’t go wrong here. The menu is extensive and diverse, and the food arrives quickly, hot, beautifully plated, and delicious every time. I highly recommend starting with a few appetizers and small plates, which is always my approach. The staff is consistently polite and friendly.

This is one of the best Asian bistros in the area. The restaurant has a clean atmosphere and features stylish lighting. They also provide hot towels before your meal for hand cleaning. I tried several dishes, all of which were fresh and flavorful. The sushi had a delicate layer of rice paired with generous slices of fish and plentiful fillings. Unlike many sushi places that fill their rolls with cheap ingredients, here, you truly get to enjoy the fish. The sashimi was exceptionally fresh, and the fried red snapper was cooked to perfection—crispy without being greasy. The udon noodles were bursting with umami flavor, and the fried ice cream was delightful. My only complaint was about the waitress; she didn't check our glasses and ask if we wanted more tea. Her demeanor was quite unenthusiastic. I’ll request a different server when I return, because despite this issue, it's definitely worth another visit.

The hand sanitizer is hilarious. If you know, you know. Minus 1 star because the host called me honey and I felt special, but then, I heard, her call someone else honey! I was betrayed. The food is good too. Get the veggie rice.

Very good selection of sushi, sushi rolls, sashimi and other Japanese specialties as well as Asian fusion dishes. We loved a very accurate and tidy presentation, with some of the dishes absolutely amazing with their colorful and picturesque look. Prices are slightly higher than the competition in the region. Even the portion sizes are not so generous. However, the extensive menu and thorough preparation outweigh the negative. We will definitely dine again at Mizuki (or take-out).
