El Carme - Peralada

We had wandered through much of the old centre of Peralada, being turned away from one restaurant because our dog was ‘mas grande’ (they didn’t realise she would squeeze out of sight under the table and be less trouble than any small dog). So we were mighty relieved to come across El Carme. It had a real buzz on a Friday evening with families and friends on tables in the square enjoying cold beers and simple well-executed tapas. We ordered a well- deserved Fino while we looked at the menu. I have to say we vastly over-ordered (we were hungry by then) but were advised by our kind waitress (who was doing everything) to cut down the number of dishes. Of course the portions were more generous than we have sadly got used to in UK ‘tapas bars’. The dog relaxed and was petted by children and adults while our waitress brought out their best Vino Tinto. It was excellent and at just €18 did not break the bank. The whole meal was good value and we were grateful to the rather stuffy restaurant that had turned us away!

Nice place in the hart of the village with lovely food and beer, I've got a great time there with a very good skills service. I'll be back for sure.

Toda una sorpresa. Local pequeño, pero con terraza en una de las plazas de la ciudad. No por ello de baja calidad, todo lo contrario. Buena comida, buen trato, buen ambiente. Recomendable al 100%.

Muy bueno , el dueño tiene un huerto y se nota las ensaladas buenísimas y los pimientos del padrón fantasticos ,

Hola amigos,este establecimiento se encuentra en una zona del pueblo de perelada que por si sola merece ser visitado ,hay que decir su café es notable,el interior sencillo pero correcto ,aunque por desgracia un poco pequeño y la terraza es es sencilla pero resulta suficiente para estar cómodos y permite hablar con tranquilidad ,es aceptable . Dentro del concepto de uso del estableciendo así como si situación lo convierten en un buen lugar para tomar algo y relajarte,local muy recomendable
