We accidentally landed on this place, we were looking for another. we were attracted by the waiting queue at the entrance and by the customers: all happy living natives. we decided to wait almost an hour for a table, but. it was absolutely worth it. some of the dishes were no longer available, but we managed to get some grilled meat, so delicious and delicate. we also have a truthahnskewer, nothing special. the service was so fast and they were very helpful with us not to speak Portuguese. the price was fantastic. 28 euro for three great meals and drinks and coffee. I hope places like these will stay in business for a long time. If you're here, go!
What a great place. friendly staff and eating like their oma makes, portugese comfort food. do not let the inner fear. we have paid 34 € for lunch for 4 including a bottle of wine. a victor
We called first for asking if the dog could come with us. First we could eat outside on a terras, but when we arrived it was so calm that the dog could come inside with us! The food was really good and more than enough!...We had a really good time and the owners were really nice. We even got a porto on the house! Obrigada!
My wife and I visited Douro à mesa during our stay at Douro Valley. The freshly grilled meat prepared by Isaura was the best we've had in ages! High quality meat that melts in your mouth. Portions are very generous and served with hand cut...fries and salad. Wine pairings were tasteful and the overall cost-benefit ratio is hard to beat. This family-run business merges great local food with excellent service (by Joaquim) in a simple but warm ambiance. Recommended!
