Harvey's - Peterborough

I strongly advise against ordering delivery from this location. I placed an order through Skip the Dishes around 9:45 PM on Monday, September 18. The app indicated that delivery was available until 11 PM, and I was given a fast 22-minute wait time. However, the driver arrived at the restaurant at 10:15 PM. After waiting until 10:40 PM without receiving my food, I reached out to Skip for an update on why the driver was taking so long and if they could get in touch with him. Shortly after, I received a notification stating that the driver claimed to have delivered the food and that Harvey's was closed. Unfortunately, I never received my order at all, but Skip did compensate me for the inconvenience. Strangely, by 10:50 PM, Harvey's appeared to be open again on the Skip app. This clearly reflects poorly on the staff's work ethic. I wouldn't trust this location.

My experience with the food was disappointing; my first order arrived with a spilled milkshake that drenched my meal. When I tried to order again, after waiting 30 minutes and using a 50% off coupon, my order was canceled. While I was refunded, they didn’t return my coupon, so I had to reorder at full price. The milkshake I received was watery, the thinnest and smallest I’ve ever had. I won’t be returning until the staff show more commitment to their roles. Also, putting paper straws in a warm bag causes them to soak up grease and meat juices—maybe they should consider selling hot dog straws in beers instead! Regarding vegetarian options, they do offer plant-based burgers for those who are meat-loving vegetarians, along with buns. As for parking, the area is dirty and poorly lit at night, making it feel unsafe due to the absence of neighboring businesses and the nearby population of drug users. Be cautious of needles and people asking for money. Lastly, while the establishment is not particularly kid-friendly, it seems more aimed at adults. Wheelchair accessibility is an issue; if the buttons work, it’s still a challenge due to the small entry points.

Suddenly, a younger girl came rushing in from the corner, making a scene about how they didn’t have to legally serve him. She took the money from the man, placed it back on the counter, and told him to leave. I stepped in to say it was a misunderstanding and that he hadn’t done anything wrong, but she completely ignored me and insisted he leave. I am truly disappointed and disgusted by her behavior, which clearly stemmed from his financial situation. Harvey's, you need to do better!

By far the worst customer service anywhere in peterborough, owner really needs to look at his staff members. They all look miserable, and treat customers poorly. My passenger was holding a smoke out the window (we didn't see the sign), guy working the drive thru rudely tapped on the window point to the sign, we apologized and put the smoke out, as he continued to tap the glass about 5 more times, had to say 10 times it was out before he would open the window. Once window was open he was extremely ignorant, only speaking to tell me the total. When we said sorry, thank you, or anything he didn't speak a word or even look at us. Every single time I come to this location, the staff members look irritated and unhappy. Clearly I'm not the first person to think this. The only nice person I've met there thus far is the kid with the longer hair, he's always smiling and happy. Must be exhausting working with a bunch of miserable people. Think it's time the owner takes a good look at his employees. If you can't handle working in customer service, then don't.

Previously i had 5 stars for this store. But last time i did collect my pick up order from drive through and they were so impatient. Lady on the mic just kept shouting from inside that what’s your number, look at your phone screen and tell your number. And at the time of collecting the order, the lady was like “keep your number ready or we won’t give order and you’ll have to leave”. Have been in the town for many years, Never had such a rude, impolite and abusive behaviour anywhere in Peterborough.
