Stoney Lake Market Grill - Peterborough

I'm sure the locals know about this place but I was glad to have found it on Trip Advisor while we were making our vacation plans. At the end of a dead-end road overlooking a small marina on Stoney Lake. We had a great view of the lake from our patio table. The pickerel my husband had was cooked to perfection and he appreciated the extra mashed potatoes too. I had the soup and half sandwich. One of the nicest Reubens I have had and half was more than enough. Great spot

Arrived to be seated at 12:50, waited for awhile till we got acknowledged. Decided to search for a server to get seated (by the way there were many tables available) found one and we were shown to a table. Ordered drinks which arrived quickly and proceeded to order a burger and a pizza. We waited for our food for over an hour and waited for an additional 15 minutes to receive the wrong bill. Perhaps they are understaffed because it didn't look busy to apply the excuse of too many patrons to serve. On a positive note, the food was good.

We were at Stoney Lake for a week in early July. We've been to the Market several times a year since it opened. Food is actually quite good and staff have always been great. This time we made 2 food purchases at The Market. One for baked goods and the other a family meal. On the first occasion we found a nice dark hair in one of our muffins. We had already left and it wasn't worth the trip to complain. On the second we had a long blonde hair in a salad. We brought it to the attention of staff and received an apology. 2 meals. 2 hairs in our food. Yuck. I am sure that we will return next year when we are in the area, but hopefully The Market will improve their hygiene.

Dropped by on a Saturday afternoon for a drink and a snack.We seated ourselves at a wonderful outdoor patio overlooking the lake. Table was quickly wiped and our server showed up promptly.Drinks ordered and served promptly.Chose some finger foods to share and they came quickly and were all very good. I recommend the Market Basket of Onion Petals and Chipotle Dip! LOTS OF FOOD!We were very impressed at the overall experience and will be back next time we pass by!

This is a wonderful place to go for dinner especially. The food is served outside under umbrellas and is so delicious. Their menu is wide ranging and beautifully cooked
